Branchburg Woman’s Club |

A fun way to help the community since 1960. |
|
Welcome from the BWC |
|
Greetings from the Branchburg Woman’s Club, College District, NJSFWC of GFWC. Founded in 1960, our club is a proud member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs and the General Federation of Women's Clubs. The BWC is a non-profit organization of women who want to help the community and participate in fun, creative, and educational activities when time permits. As a woman with many responsibilities, you may think that your life is too hectic to consider becoming a BWC member. However, even if you only have some time now and then, you can be a valued club member plus build new friendships, broaden your horizons, and help others. |

|
A look at our membership will show that even busy women find participating in club activities worthwhile. It’s an easy way to feel part of the community, meet new people with similar interests, and learn new things. Club activities have evolved along with the interests of the club members. The club has extracurricular groups, called departments. Some meet in the daytime and some meet in the evening. Activities may range from crafts, gourmet food appreciation to film and book discussions. New departments can be created as desired. Fun day trips, evenings out, and special social events add to the club experience. |
|
Meeting from September through May, typically on the third Thursday evening of the month, the club’s general membership meetings begin with a guest speaker or an activity. Then there are refreshments, followed by a club meeting. Consider coming to a meeting or two as our guest and bring a friend! Membership inquiries are welcome from Central New Jersey women, especially residents of Branchburg and nearby towns. Learn how you can become a valued member of our dynamic and diverse group of women volunteers by joining the Branchburg Woman’s Club.

Little Things Can Help Others in a Big Way 3 BWC Projects– An Invitation Many of us make resolutions about what we hope to accomplish in the New Year. Perhaps finding more ways to help others in need is on your list? With our busy lives, sometimes that's not easy, but there are simple things that you can do that will make a difference to people who are challenged with difficulties. With this in mind, the Branchburg Woman's Club offers several opportunities to help others.
For instance, you could donate peanut butter, beans, and other nonperishable food in non-breakable containers to the Branchburg Woman's Club’s Food Drive for the Food Bank Network of Somerset County. It is part of "Operation: Peanut Butter, Jelly and Beans", a joint statewide project with the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs. Now through June 29, contributions are urgently requested to help those in need. Donations may be left in the labeled bin in the lobby of the Branchburg Municipal Building, 1077 US Hwy 202 North, Branchburg, NJ. For more information or to let the club know that you contributed to the Food Bank, call (908) 526-3094.
How about giving a pair of new socks to the Branchburg Woman's Club's "Step Away from Abuse" GFWC Sock Project? The Branchburg Woman's Club is collecting new socks that will be given to New Jersey domestic violence shelters to help provide comfort and warmth to adults and children that have been victims of domestic violence. All sizes of socks are welcome; the collection bin for the new socks is located in the Township's main building, which is open from 8:30 am— 4:30 pm weekdays.
The Club's Knitting for a Purpose Group is seeking additional contributions of 7 inch x 9 inch knitted or crocheted rectangles for the Warm Up America! Project. Finished rectangles should be made with either knitting needles of size 7, 8, or 9 or crochet hook size F or G, please. The collection bin is the same bin as for the socks, located in the Township's main building. Since January 2010, a total of 25 afghans have been created and given to the Warm Up America! Foundation to assist people in need. A big thank you to all who have helped with the project.
Call (908) 866-1060 or email the club for more information about these projects and other ways of assisting. |
